Mentor Lives up to Her Name

Kean University graduate, Meagan Mentor is an inspiration to children in her New Providence pre-school and beyond.  Mentor recently published “Powerful Pete,” a children’s book designed to teach youths to recognize their own unique gifts.  Mentor’s young protagonist always thought he was an ordinary boy. Then he discovered the truth about himself and his limitless potential.

Mentor is a preschool teacher at Santa Fe Childcare Center in New Providence, NJ. She says that Pete is a part of her and she felt compelled to give him life. As a child Mentor felt quite ordinary. Through her writing she hopes to help children recognize the diversity of their gifts and that everyone is special in their own way.

“Powerful Pete” took Mentor about two weeks to write and was published shortly thereafter. The book is targeted to children ages three to ten. Mentor developed a love of writing at an early age and plans to continue pursuing her passion.  “Powerful Pete” was born from her two loves, writing and children.  Powerful Pete was published by AuthorHouse and is available on Amazon
